St. Francis of Assisi Residence is a senior citizen housing-only residence located in Palos Park, Illinois. It consists of 81 one-bedroom units, each of which include a living room/dining area, kitchen with appliances, bedroom, bathroom and closets. Carpeting, blinds and air conditioners are also provided. Community space consists of media room, game room, laundry facilities, mailbox lobby, public restrooms, offices and a community room with a kitchen. The St. Francis of Assisi Residence is sponsored and operated by Catholic Charities Housing Development Corporation and is financed under the Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly Program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development. Property is completely smoke-free as of April 1, 2012, common areas and resident units.

The St. Francis of Assisi Residence is specially designed for senior citizens who meet the following requirements:
- Households of which head of household, spouse, or co-head is at least 62 years of age or older.
- All residents must be able to fulfill the lease requirement by themselves or with whatever assistance they can provide privately.
- Households who verify that they meet the income requirements as determined by the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
All rents are subsidized under a rental assistance program. Eligible households pay no more than 30% of their adjusted gross income for rent and utilities, excluding telephone. Certain deductions are made for elderly status for the household head and allowable medical expenses. After initial occupancy, income will be recertified on an annual basis. (Changes in income larger than $200/month must be reported immediately for rent recalculation.)

You must have a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant.

In addition to the income requirements, you may also need to meet other eligibility requirements, such as:

- You must not have been evicted from any public housing or Section 8 housing in the past three years.
- You must not have any outstanding felony convictions for drug-related offenses.
- You must not be a registered sex offender.

    I am in the process of divorce at 63 yrs old. I am disabled with a service animal but am able to live independently on a slim social security income. I would love to know more about your facility.

    Please send me info concernind rental at at francis in palos the rent/ the access to mass / rental sizes / price acess to transportation / pets allowed am an ex catholic school teacher from chicago. Looking for a stable place to retire. Am interrested in independent living not assisted living but also access to physical therapy under dr. Supervision. Please respond at your earliest conveneience at present am in an emergency homless shelter called the olive branch on 63rd and claremont.. A few blocks east from the st rita de casios basilica style cathedral.
