Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority provides housing assistance to low income residents through the management of programs such as Low Rent Public Housing and the Housing Choice Voucher Program - Section 8. These programs are income based and the eligibility guidelines are set by HUD. Qualifications: Do you qualify to live here?
To qualify for low income housing in Kansas, you must meet the following income requirements:

Your household income must be below 80% of the area median income (AMI). The AMI is updated annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and varies by county.

You must have a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant.

In addition to the income requirements, you may also need to meet other eligibility requirements, such as:

- You must not have been evicted from any public housing or Section 8 housing in the past three years.
- You must not have any outstanding felony convictions for drug-related offenses.
- You must not be a registered sex offender.

      User Response: Not in main units. Some units allow small pets. Some depends on landlord. ESA and service animals with proper paperwork.

    I am 69 i get 1000 third of month i am disabled and under drs care but i still do things on my own. I lived with my son for 6 years, there will only be me living there
