I have allergies. And since the maintenance man is lazy or something he claims the furnace filter does not clean the air. That it is only for protection of the components and to prevent overheating. N2n is offering to pay for purifiers but i have tried those in the past before already and they did not work for me. What works for me is changing the furnace filter every 1-3 months to grade 4 or higher. I would change the furnace filter myself but i don't have access to the basement where it is cause the city and hud declared it unsafe down there. It is about to warm up now so technically i can make it through till next year but from next years i will be having major breathing and sleeping problems cause the maintenance man is lazy or scared of covid or something and doesn't want to change them every 3 months but every 6 months. If me and my roommate didn't have allergies this would not be an issue but we do. I don't know if air purifier would help my roommate but they certainly don't help me
