La Cieneguita Elderly Housing is a HUD Apartment. HUD residents usually pay 30% of their gross income for rent. La Cieneguita is a 120 unit development divided into three neighborhoods. The complex includes 88 single-family units and 32 attached compound-style units for low-income seniors. There is a community facility, a children's park, and a daycare facility for resident convenience. The complex was built to serve "senior citizens, single adults, single parent households, and two parent households," meaning that they have a unit fitted to almost every need. Grants received for the project include a Housing and Development Division special purpose grant, an Affordable Housing grant, and a HOME grant.

Your household income must be below 80% of the area median income (AMI). The AMI is updated annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and varies by county.

You must have a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant.

In addition to the income requirements, you may also need to meet other eligibility requirements, such as:

- You must not have been evicted from any public housing or Section 8 housing in the past three years.
- You must not have any outstanding felony convictions for drug-related offenses.
- You must not be a registered sex offender.
