My monthly income is $1,240. 00. I am elderly and disabled. All of the tenants here received notice that our rent will be increased by $100 per month. These brick apartments are over 25 years old and have been poorly maintained. I personally spend at least $50 per month of my own money to try and keep the roach infestation under control in my apartment. There is only one door and that is the front door. We are not allowed to put in a screen door to get fresh air and also to help save on our power bill. With the price of gas and food and now our rent how and where are we supposed to live? Isn't there something that can be done by our elected officials to stop this price gouging? Is there anyone or any place that can help us disabled elderly seniors with our rent so we don't have to live in the streets? This is a very serious problem.
