Mutual Housing acquired Union Street in September 2008. This 25 unit development was constructed in 1999 on a 5.5 acre parcel of land in North Manchester. The property is convenient to Interstate 84 off exit 63, the Tolland Turnpike, the Buckland Mall and near a busline, parks, schools, and town services.

The project offers a mix of 4 one-bedroom units, 15 two-bedroom units and 6 three-bedroom units contained in 13 buildings. There is a combination of flat and townhouse unit types.

All units have modern feature. There include energy efficient windows, doors and appliances, gas fired heating system, insulated walls and roof, private entrances and rear yards.

A community room was created to foster resident interaction and provide a place for resident activities.

Qualifications: Do you qualify to live here?
To qualify for low income housing in Connecticut, you must meet the following income requirements:

Your household income must be below 80% of the area median income (AMI). The AMI is updated annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and varies by county.

You must have a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant.

In addition to the income requirements, you may also need to meet other eligibility requirements, such as:

- You must not have been evicted from any public housing or Section 8 housing in the past three years.
- You must not have any outstanding felony convictions for drug-related offenses.
- You must not be a registered sex offender.
