Each program has its own eligibility requirements and application process, so it is important to do your research to find the program that is right for you.
  • 2. Get all of your documentation in order: When you apply for low income housing, you will need to provide documentation of your income, assets, and household composition. This documentation may include tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements, and birth certificates.
  • 3. Be careful and accurate on all information provided: Any false or misleading information on your application will most likely result in your disqualification.
  • 4. Waiting Lists: The waiting lists for most, if not all low-income housing programs is long. Do not limit yourself to only apply to one apartment location.

User Response: Yes, these apartments are safe. Lone Pine, Independence, Big Pine and Bishop are probably the safest communities you will ever find. I personally lived in Bishop for over 10 years and worked for quite a few years. Many, and I mean Many times, someone would leave their wallet or purse in a shopping cart. It was ALWAYS returned to the store without a dime missing. People genuinely care about their community and will bend over backwards to help each other when there is need.

  • Are Pets allowed? Please let us know any details.

  • Which utilities are included in the rent?

  • Are you familiar with this location? What is your opinion of it?

User Response: Probably one of the most beautiful areas in California. People travel from all over the world to come here. The schools are great! My kids did really well here in Inyo County. My boys went from being D students in Riverside, California to being A and B students in Bishop, Round Valley to be exact. This is a great place to raise kids. There is so much to do. You have the springs all along the Owens river where you can go swimming , there are trails to hike that are close by and lets not forget the year long fishing from the lower owens river if you are a resident. The air is safe to breathe, it's safe to walk down the street at night, there is no other place I'd choose to live and raise my kids. The police are great too. Everyone knows each other because the community is small and people actually take the time to talk to each other and wave to each other as youre driving down the street.
